John Clarence Stewart is an American actor and singer, born on August 16, 1988, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He gained recognition for his roles in popular TV shows such as Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020-21), where he played the character Simon, and Luke Cage (2016–18), where he portrayed Alex Wesley. Stewart also appeared in the series What/If (2019) as Lionel. He began his acting career by performing in school musicals, including Once on This Island. He holds a BFA in Performance Theater from Columbus State University and a BA in Theater and Performance Studies and Dance from Kennesaw State University. Stewart has performed in educational theater productions and has been part of various plays at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre, including The Whipping Man, Choir Boy, and A Christmas Carol.
