John Frusciante
John Frusciante (born March 5, 1970) is an American musician known for his work as the guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He has had three stints with the band, from 1988-1992, 1998-2009, and 2019-present. In addition to his work with the Chili Peppers, Frusciante has released 11 solo albums and 7 EPs, showcasing a range of styles from acoustic guitar to electronic music. Rolling Stone magazine named him the 13th-greatest guitarist of all time in 2003. Frusciante was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2012. He joined the band at the age of 18, replacing the late Hillel Slovak, and made his debut on their album Mother's Milk (1989). Frusciante's second album with the Chili Peppers, Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991), was a major commercial success. Following the band's overwhelming popularity, he left in 1992, entered a period of heroin addiction, and released his first solo recordings during that time. He later returned to the Chili Peppers and continued to make significant contributions to their music.
