Joss Ackland Biography
Sidney Edmond Jocelyn Ackland CBE (born 29 February 1928) is an English retired actor known for his appearances in over 130 film and television roles. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Jock Delves Broughton in the film White Mischief (1987), for which he was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Ackland was born on 29 February 1928 in North Kensington, London. He received his training at the Central School of Speech and Drama, under Elsie Fogerty. In addition to his successful acting career, Ackland was married to actress Rosemary Kirkcaldy in 1951.
