Julie Deborah Kavner (born September 7, 1950) is an American actress known for her roles in television shows and animated series. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Brenda Morgenstern in the sitcom Rhoda, earning her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Since 1987, Kavner has been widely recognized as the voice of Marge Simpson in the long-running animated series The Simpsons. In addition to Marge, Kavner lends her voice to several other characters on the show, including Marge's mother, sisters, and great aunt. Known for her improvisation skills and distinctive gravel voice, Kavner's talent has become an integral part of the success and popularity of The Simpsons.
