    Jully Black, born Jullyann Inderia Gordon Black on November 8, 1977, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress. She has collaborated and written for numerous artists, such as Nas, Saukrates, Choclair, Kardinal Offishall, Destiny's Child, and Sean Paul. Jullyann, the youngest of nine children, was born to Jamaican immigrants and grew up in the North York district of Toronto, Ontario. Raised in a strict Pentecostal household by her single mother, Aretha, after her parents' divorce, Jully's talent was discovered by Warner/Chappell Music when she was 19 years old. Shortly after, she signed with Universal Music Canada, propelling her career and earning her first Juno Award nomination.
