Karamo Karega Brown is an American television host, reality television personality, author, actor, and activist. He gained initial fame in 2004 as a cast member on the MTV reality show The Real World: Philadelphia, where he became the second openly gay black man to be featured on a reality show. Brown currently stars as the culture expert on the Netflix series Queer Eye. In September 2022, he began hosting his own talk show called Karamo on NBCUniversal. Born in Houston, Texas, Brown is of Jamaican and Cuban descent and has three older sisters. He grew up in Coral Springs, Florida, and graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Brown is a graduate of Florida A&M University and is known for his advocacy work in social services and gun control.
