Katherine Parkinson is an English actress and comedian, born in 1978 in Hounslow, London. She gained recognition for her role as Jen Barber in Channel 4's comedy series The IT Crowd, receiving a British Comedy Best TV Actress Award in 2009 and 2014. Parkinson studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and has appeared on stage in plays such as The Seagull, Cock, and Home, I'm Darling, earning a nomination for the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Play. She was also a main cast member in the series Doc Martin and appeared in all three series of Humans. Parkinson has also appeared in films including The Boat That Rocked and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
