David Anthony Love Jr., better known by his stage name Kid Capri, is an American DJ and rapper. Born on February 7, 1967, in the Bronx, Kid Capri honed his skills by scratching records on his father's stereo system at a young age. He started his career by selling DJ mixtapes on the streets and performing at local gigs. Kid Capri is widely recognized as an originator, innovator, and pioneer of DJ culture. His mixtapes and energetic performances earned him the title of 'The Guru of Mixtapes.' He was the first DJ to appear on major networks such as BET and VH1 and starred in the HBO series Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam.
