Lambert Wilson Biography
Lambert Wilson (born Willson, 3 August 1958) is a French actor known internationally for his portrayal of The Merovingian in The Matrix film series. He is the son of Georges Wilson, a former actor and director. Wilson initially aimed to become an 'American actor' and studied acting at the Drama Centre London to learn English. His first movie role was in the 1977 film Julia, directed by Fred Zinnemann. He later starred in Five Days One Summer alongside Sean Connery but found more success in his home country of France. Throughout the 1980s, Wilson gained popularity with French audiences through his appearances in successful films.
