Louise Jameson, born on April 20, 1951, is an English actress known for her diverse range of television and theatre roles. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Leela in Doctor Who from 1977 to 1978, and also appeared as Anne Reynolds in The Omega Factor (1979), Blanche Simmons in Tenko (1981-1982), Susan Young in Bergerac (1985-1990), Rosa di Marco in EastEnders (1998-2000), and Mary Goskirk in Emmerdale (2022-present). Jameson is credited with contributing to the progression of female roles on British television, portraying strong, independent characters during the 1970s and 80s. Born in Wanstead, Essex, she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in her late teens.
