Lynda Jean Cordova Carter is an American actress, singer, and beauty pageant titleholder. Born on July 24, 1951, in Phoenix, Arizona, she was crowned Miss World USA 1972 and finished in the top 15 at the Miss World 1972 pageant. Carter gained international fame for her role as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman in the live-action television series Wonder Woman, which aired on ABC and later on CBS from 1975 to 1979. She made her public television debut at the age of 5 and performed in a band called Just Us during high school. Carter comes from a diverse heritage, with English, Scots-Irish, Mexican, Spanish, and French ancestry.
