Mary Megan Winningham, professionally known as Mare Winningham, is an American actress and singer-songwriter. Born on May 16, 1959, she has won two Primetime Emmy Awards and has been nominated for an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and two Tony Awards. Winningham won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie Emmy for her roles in 'Amber Waves' (1980) and 'George Wallace' (1998). She was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film 'Georgia' (1995). Winningham has appeared in several notable films, including 'St. Elmo's Fire' (1985), 'Miracle Mile' (1988), and 'Turner & Hooch' (1989). She has also appeared in TV shows such as 'American Horror Story' and 'Hatfields & McCoys' and made her New York stage debut in the musical '10 Million Miles' (2007).
