Marina Sirtis

Marina Sirtis (born 29 March 1955) is a British/American actress. She is best known for her role as Counselor Deanna Troi on the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and four Star Trek feature films. Sirtis was born in Hackney, London, to Greek parents, Despina and John Sirtis. She grew up in Harringay, North London. Sirtis auditioned for drama school against her parents' wishes and was accepted to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After graduating in 1976, she began her acting career. In addition to her Star Trek appearances, Sirtis has appeared in other television shows and films throughout her career.
