Mark Frost (born November 25, 1953) is an American novelist, screenwriter, film and television producer, and director. He is best known as the co-creator of the mystery television series Twin Peaks (1990–1991; 2017) and for his work as a writer and executive story editor on Hill Street Blues (1982–1985). Frost was born in Brooklyn, New York City, and raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended Marshall-University High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he spent two years studying and working at the Guthrie Theater. Frost later studied acting, directing, and playwriting at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the television and film industry.
