Matt Kennedy

Matt Kennedy is a retired American soccer goalkeeper who played in the North American Soccer League, American Soccer League, and Major Indoor Soccer League. In 1979, he signed with the Philadelphia Fury of the NASL but did not see any game time before being released. He went on to play for the Philadelphia Fever of the MISL from 1979 to 1981 and the Carolina Lightnin' in the ASL in 1983. Kennedy suffered a knee injury in 1984 but made a comeback and became a regular starter for the Minnesota Strikers during the 1986-1987 season. He later signed with the Wichita Wings in 1987. Currently, Kennedy is a coach with Vision Soccer Academy in Waukee, Iowa, and the head coach of Hoover High School.
