Matt Leinart Biography
Matt Leinart is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He was born on May 11, 1983, in Santa Ana, California. Leinart played college football at USC, where he won the Heisman Trophy and led his team to an undefeated season as a junior, resulting in a victory in the 2005 BCS National Championship. In the 2006 NFL Draft, he was selected 10th overall by the Arizona Cardinals. Throughout his career, Leinart primarily served as a backup quarterback for the Cardinals, Houston Texans, and Oakland Raiders. In 2017, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
