Matthew Rhys

Matthew Rhys Evans, born on November 8, 1974, is a Welsh actor known for his diverse roles in both television and film. He rose to prominence for his portrayal of Kevin Walker in the family drama series Brothers & Sisters (2006–2011) and gained critical acclaim for his role as Philip Jennings in the spy drama series The Americans (2013–2018). Rhys's exceptional performance in The Americans earned him a Primetime Emmy Award and multiple Golden Globe Award nominations. In addition to his television work, he has appeared in notable films such as The Edge of Love (2008), The Post (2017), and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019). Rhys has also lent his voice to animated series, including The Owl House (2020–2023). Born and raised in Cardiff, Rhys is fluent in Welsh and attended Welsh-medium schools during his upbringing.
