She attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied theater and honed her craft. Moore made her Broadway debut in 1974 in the revival of Gypsy, playing the role of Dainty June. Throughout her career, she has been cast in major Broadway roles and has become known for her ability to serve as a standby for leading stars. Some of her notable stand-in roles include Edie/Edith in Grey Gardens, Rose in Gypsy, and Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. Moore's extensive Broadway credits include performances in Grey Gardens, The Threepenny Opera, Cabaret, Sunset Boulevard, Falsettos, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Les Misérables, Song and Dance, and more.
