Melissa Etheridge
Melissa Lou Etheridge (born May 29, 1961) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist. She rose to fame with her eponymous debut album in 1988, which reached No. 22 on the Billboard 200 chart. Etheridge received her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female for the lead single 'Bring Me Some Water'. Her subsequent albums, including 'Brave and Crazy' (1989) and 'Never Enough' (1992), earned her additional Grammy nominations. However, it was her 1993 album 'Yes I Am' that became a mainstream success. It spent 138 weeks on the Billboard 200, reaching No. 15, and featured hits like 'I'm the Only One' and 'Come to My Window', for which she won her second Grammy Award.
