Michael Jayston Biography
Michael Jayston, born on October 29, 1935 in West Bridgford, Nottingham, is an English actor. Initially trained as an accountant, he later pursued his passion for acting and attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Jayston has had a successful career both on stage and screen. He played Nicholas II of Russia in the film Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) and portrayed the Valeyard in all fourteen episodes of the Doctor Who serial The Trial of a Time Lord (1986). Additionally, he appeared in the popular TV show Only Fools and Horses in the episode 'Time on Our Hands' (1996) as Raquel's father, James. Jayston has performed at renowned theaters such as the Bristol Old Vic and Stratford-upon-Avon.
