Morris Lamont Chestnut (born January 1, 1969) is an American actor known for his roles in film and television. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Ricky Baker in the 1991 film Boyz n the Hood. Chestnut has appeared in numerous feature films and TV series throughout his career. Notable among them is his starring role as FBI Agent Will Keaton in the NBC TV series The Enemy Within. Chestnut was born in Cerritos, California, and attended California State University, Northridge, where he studied finance and drama. Prior to acting, he worked as a bank teller. His first professional acting role was in the TV series Freddy's Nightmares – A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Series, and his first feature film role was in Boyz n the Hood.
