Murray Walker
Murray Walker (1923-2021) was an English motorsport commentator and journalist known for his lively commentary during Formula One races. He provided television commentary for the BBC from 1976 to 1996 and for ITV from 1997 to 2001. Walker's animated enthusiasm, authoritative voice, and occasional comical blunders, known as 'Murrayisms,' endeared him to fans. He retired from full-time commentary after the 2001 United States Grand Prix but continued to make part-time appearances on various networks. Born in Birmingham, England, on 10 October 1923, Walker came from a family of Scottish descent. His father, Graham Walker, worked for the Norton Motorcycle Company.
