Nancy Opel is an American singer and actress known for her work on Broadway. She was nominated for a Tony Award in 2002 for her role in the musical Urinetown. Opel grew up in Prairie Village and Leawood, Kansas, and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. She received training at the Juilliard School. Opel has appeared in various Broadway productions including Evita, Teddy & Alice, Sunday in the Park with George, Anything Goes, Triumph of Love, Fiddler on the Roof, Memphis, and Cinderella. She also performed in the Encores! staged concert of Gypsy. Opel portrayed Kafka in the Off-Broadway debut of David Ives' Words, Words, Words in 1993.
