Neil Marshall

Neil Marshall (born May 25, 1970) is an English film and television director, editor, producer, and screenwriter. He is known for directing notable horror films such as Dog Soldiers (2002) and The Descent (2005), as well as the science fiction action film Doomsday (2008) and the historical war film Centurion (2010). Marshall has also directed episodes of the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones, including the highly acclaimed episodes 'Blackwater' and 'The Watchers on the Wall'. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Marshall attended film school at Newcastle Polytechnic and worked as a freelance film editor before making a name for himself as a director.
