Nigella Lawson is an English food writer, television cook, food critic, author, and television presenter. Born on January 6, 1960, she attended Godolphin and Latymer School in London. After being rejected from Clare College, University of Cambridge, she attended Lady Margaret Hall at the University of Oxford. Lawson began her career as a book reviewer and restaurant critic before becoming the deputy literary editor of The Sunday Times in 1986. She later became a freelance journalist, writing for various newspapers and magazines. In 1998, Lawson published her first cookery book, How to Eat, which became a best-seller. She hosted the cooking show Nigella Bites in 1999, accompanied by another successful cookbook.
