Noma Dumezweni Biography
Noma Dumezweni is a South African-British actress, born on July 28, 1969, in Mbabane, Swaziland (present-day Eswatini). She is best known for her award-winning performances in theater. In 2006, she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Ruth Younger in A Raisin in the Sun. In 2017, she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as Hermione Granger in the original West End run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. She later reprised the role for the show's original Broadway run. Dumezweni has also been nominated for a Tony Award. She arrived in England as a refugee in 1992 and has a daughter named Qeiva, born in 2007.
