Paris Hilton is an American media personality, businesswoman, socialite, model, actress, and singer. Born on February 17, 1981, in New York City, she was raised in both New York City and Los Angeles. Hilton is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. She gained tabloid attention in the late 1990s and became a popular figure in the NYC social scene. At the age of 19, she signed with Donald Trump's agency, Trump Model Management, and ventured into modeling. Hilton rose to global fame with the reality television series The Simple Life (2003–2007), alongside her friend Nicole Richie. She also gained notoriety for the release of a sex tape with her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon, titled 1 Night in Paris (2004). Hilton has also published a book, Confessions of an Heiress (2004), which became a New York Times Best Seller.
