Patricia Davies Clarkson (born December 29, 1959) is an American actress known for her versatile performances in a wide range of films. Born and raised in New Orleans, Clarkson graduated from Fordham University and the Yale School of Drama. She made her film debut in Brian De Palma's The Untouchables (1987) and gained recognition for her supporting role in Clint Eastwood's The Dead Pool (1988). Clarkson's breakthrough came with her portrayal of a drug-addicted actress in the indie drama High Art (1998). Throughout her career, she has appeared in both leading and supporting roles, earning her a Golden Globe and three Primetime Emmy Awards.
