Paul McGann Biography
Paul John McGann is an English actor born on November 14, 1959, in Liverpool. He gained recognition for his role as Percy Toplis in the television series The Monocled Mutineer (1986), followed by his critically acclaimed performance in the dark comedy Withnail and I (1987), which developed a cult following. McGann is widely known for portraying the eighth incarnation of the Doctor in the 1996 television film Doctor Who. Additionally, he is recognized for his role as Lieutenant William Bush in the TV series Hornblower. McGann comes from a Roman Catholic family with Irish ancestry. He has four siblings, including three brothers who are also actors.
