Paul Harold Westerberg (born December 31, 1959) is an American musician, best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for The Replacements. After the band's breakup, Westerberg embarked on a successful solo career, releasing three albums on major record labels. He has since self-produced and recorded music in his basement home studio, releasing it independently. Additionally, Westerberg has released two albums and an EP under the pseudonym Grandpaboy. In 2017, he released songs on SoundCloud as User 964848511 and on Bandcamp as Dry Wood Garage. Westerberg got his start in the late 1970s after joining a band he heard practicing in a basement while walking home from work as a janitor.
