Pauley Perrette (born March 27, 1969) is an American retired actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Abby Sciuto in the television series NCIS, which she portrayed from 2003 to 2018. Perrette was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and spent her childhood in various states across the southern United States. She attended Valdosta State University where she studied criminal justice before moving to New York City to study at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Perrette had a diverse range of jobs in New York, including bartending and working as a cook. Throughout her career, she has also pursued her passion for music and released several singles.
