Penny Johnson Jerald

Penny Johnson Jerald is an American actress born on March 14, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland. With a passion for acting since childhood, Jerald attended the Juilliard School and graduated in 1982. She started her career with small guest roles and made her screen debut on an episode of American Playhouse in 1983. Jerald gained recognition for her roles as Beverly Barnes on The Larry Sanders Show, Kasidy Yates on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Sherry Palmer on 24. She also portrayed Captain Victoria 'Iron' Gates on Castle, and Dr. Claire Finn on The Orville. Additionally, Jerald has lent her voice to the films The Lion King and Mufasa: The Lion King.
