Peter Riegert Biography
Peter Riegert (born April 11, 1947) is an American actor known for his notable roles in various films and television shows. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Donald 'Boon' Schoenstein in the comedy film Animal House (1978) and as oil company executive 'Mac' MacIntyre in Local Hero (1983). Riegert's other notable film credits include Crossing Delancey (1988), The Mask (1994), and American Pastoral (2016). He also directed the short film By Courier (2000), for which he received an Academy Award nomination. On television, Riegert had recurring roles in The Sopranos (2001–2002) and Damages (2007), and portrayed Seth Green's father in Dads (2013–2014). He was recognized with a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his performance in Barbarians at the Gate (1993).
