Randy Bachman
Randolph Charles Bachman (born September 27, 1943) is a Canadian guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He gained fame as a founding member of the bands The Guess Who and Bachman–Turner Overdrive. Bachman also recorded as a solo artist and participated in several short-lived bands like Brave Belt, Union, and Ironhorse. In addition to his musical career, he served as a national radio personality on CBC Radio, hosting the popular weekly music show, Vinyl Tap. Bachman's contributions to music were recognized when he was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2016. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bachman comes from a mixed German and Ukrainian heritage. He demonstrated his musical talent from an early age, winning a singing contest at three and studying violin until the age of 12. Bachman's ability to play music by ear without reading sheet music became his signature skill.
