Richard Chamberlain Biography
Richard Chamberlain is an American actor and singer, born on March 31, 1934 in Beverly Hills, California. He gained popularity as a teen idol for his portrayal of Dr. Kildare in the TV show of the same name from 1961 to 1966. Chamberlain went on to star in several miniseries, including Shōgun (1980) and The Thorn Birds (1983), which further solidified his acting career. In 1988, he became the first actor to portray Jason Bourne in the television film The Bourne Identity. Chamberlain has also showcased his talent in classical stage roles and musical theatre. Before his acting career, he attended Pomona College and served in the United States Army as a sergeant during the Korean War.
