Riley Smith (born April 12, 1978) is an American actor known for his roles in various television series. He has had recurring roles in popular shows such as 24, Joan of Arcadia, 90210, True Blood, and The Messengers. Smith has also starred in television series including Drive, Frequency, and Nancy Drew. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Smith was raised on his parents' horse ranch in Marion, Iowa. He began competing in horse shows at a young age and achieved success as a rider. Smith's accomplishments include placing 4th in the 3-Year-Old Mares division at the American Quarter Horse Youth World Championship at age 15, and winning the championship at age 16. He also became the youngest person to serve as president of the American Quarter Horse Youth Association at age 17. Smith graduated from Alburnett Junior-Senior High School in 1997 and initially planned to earn a college degree alongside his acting career.
