Robert John Arthur Halford, born on August 25, 1951, is an English heavy metal singer. He gained prominence as the lead vocalist of the iconic band Judas Priest, which was formed in 1969. Halford's operatic vocal style and his leather-and-studs image have become synonymous with heavy metal. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various side projects, including Fight, Two, and Halford. Renowned for his influential and recognizable singing style, Halford effortlessly transitions between a throaty growl and an ear-splitting falsetto. In 2010, Judas Priest won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance, and Halford was ranked as the 33rd greatest voice in rock by Planet Rock listeners in 2009.
