Robby Benson

Robby Benson (born Robin David Segal on January 21, 1956) is an American actor and director. He gained popularity as a teen idol in the late 1970s, starring in sports films such as One on One (1977) and Ice Castles (1978). Benson is best known for providing the voice of Beast in Disney's animated film Beauty and the Beast (1991) and its various sequels and spin-offs. He has also directed television, including six episodes of the sitcom Friends. In addition to his career in entertainment, Benson is an advocate for heart research, having undergone four open-heart surgeries. He released a memoir in 2012 chronicling his medical journey and surgeries.
