Robin Thede

Robin Thede is an American comedian, actress, and writer known for her work in movies and TV shows. She was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa. Thede made history in 2015 as the first African-American woman to be a head writer for a late-night talk show on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. From 2017 to 2018, she hosted The Rundown with Robin Thede on BET. Thede is the creator and co-star of the Emmy-nominated HBO series A Black Lady Sketch Show. In addition to her television work, Thede has also worked as an entertainment correspondent, host, and radio personality. Her parents are Phyllis Thede and Dave Thede, and she was named after the renowned comedian and actor Robin Williams.
