Ron Eldard is an American actor born on February 20, 1965, in Long Island, New York. He is of Irish and Scottish descent and is the sixth of seven children. After the tragic death of his mother in a car accident, Eldard and his siblings were sent to live with various family members. Eldard made his film debut in the comedy True Love (1989) and gained recognition for his role in Sleepers (1996). He has also performed on Broadway in acclaimed productions such as On the Waterfront and Death of a Salesman. Eldard has appeared in films like Drop Dead Fred (1991) and has had TV show appearances in shows like ER and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
