Rosanne Cash (born May 24, 1955) is an American singer-songwriter and author. She is best known as the eldest daughter of country music icon Johnny Cash. While often classified as a country artist, Cash's music spans various genres such as folk, pop, rock, blues, and Americana. In the 1980s, she achieved chart success with singles that crossed over into both the country and pop charts. Her breakthrough hit, 'Seven Year Ache' (1981), topped the U.S. country singles chart and reached the Top 30 on the U.S. pop chart. Cash later transitioned towards a more introspective and spare sound with the release of 'Interiors' (1990). She currently resides in New York City, where she continues to write, record, and perform.
