Sahr Ngaujah is an American theater actor and director, born on September 7, 1976, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His parents, who are of Sierra Leonean descent, later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Ngaujah started his acting career at the age of 15 and gained recognition for his work in experimental theater in Amsterdam. He earned a Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of Fela Kuti in the Broadway musical 'Fela!' in 2009, and another nomination for his role as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in 'Moulin Rouge!' in 2019. On screen, he is known for his appearances in ABC's 'Last Resort' (2012) and Netflix's 'Luke Cage' (2018).
