Sandra Bernhard

Sandra Bernhard (born June 6, 1955) is an American actress, comedian, and singer. She rose to prominence in the late 1970s through her stand-up comedy, where she offered sharp critiques on celebrity culture and political figures. Bernhard is widely recognized for her role as Nancy Bartlett Thomas in the ABC sitcom Roseanne, which she portrayed from the fourth season (1991) until the show's conclusion in 1997. Additionally, she appeared as Nurse Judy Kubrak in the FX drama series Pose. Bernhard has been ranked 96th on Comedy Central's list of the 100 greatest stand-ups of all time. Born in Flint, Michigan, she was raised as a Conservative Jew by her parents Jeanette and Jerome Bernhard. Bernhard has three older brothers and attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona.
