Sarah Sherman, also known professionally as Sarah Squirm, is an American comedian, actress, and screenwriter. Born on March 7, 1993, in Long Island, New York, she grew up in a Jewish family. Sherman graduated from Great Neck South High School and Northwestern University in 2014 with a theater degree. After not making the improv team at Northwestern, she developed an interest in stand-up comedy. Sherman became known for her surreal and body horror comedy style. In October 2021, she joined the cast of NBC's Saturday Night Live as a featured player, and was later promoted to Repertory Status in October 2023. Sherman has also been involved in a monthly show called Helltrap Nightmare, alongside other comedians like Megan Stalter and Luke Taylor.
