Sean Avery

Sean Christopher Avery (born April 10, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played left wing for the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and Dallas Stars during his career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Known for his agitating playing style, Avery led the league in penalty minutes twice. After retiring from hockey in 2012, he transitioned to working in the creative industry. Avery has worked as an intern at Vogue magazine, a model, an actor, and a restaurateur. He is also the author of the memoir 'Ice Capades: A Memoir of Fast Living and Tough Hockey' and has hosted the podcast 'No Gruffs Given with Sean Avery' since 2019.
