Sean Penn

Sean Justin Penn (born August 17, 1960) is an American actor and film director. He is best known for his roles in films such as Mystic River (2003) and Milk (2008), for which he won Academy Awards. Penn began his acting career in television and made his film debut in Taps (1981). Throughout the 1980s, he took on diverse roles in movies like Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) and Bad Boys (1983). He received critical acclaim for his performances in crime dramas such as At Close Range (1986), State of Grace (1990), and Carlito's Way (1993). Penn's notable works also include Dead Man Walking (1995) and Sweet and Lowdown (1999).
