Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber; December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018) was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer. He played a pivotal role in the expansion of Marvel Comics, starting as a writer and eventually becoming the primary creative leader for two decades. Alongside collaborators Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Lee co-created numerous iconic superheroes, including Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Black Panther. His contributions in the 1960s revolutionized the superhero genre by introducing more naturalistic and relatable characters. Lee also challenged the restrictions of the Comics Code Authority in the 1970s, leading to significant changes in the industry.
