Stella Gonet is a Scottish actress known for her work in theatre, film, and television. Born on May 8, 1960, in Greenock, Scotland, she began her career in the entertainment industry with notable roles in BBC dramas such as The House of Eliott (1991-94) and Holby City (2007-09). Gonet has also made a mark on stage, including her portrayal of Ophelia in the 1989 National Theatre revival of Hamlet, where she worked alongside actors Daniel Day-Lewis and Ian Charleson. In 2014, she played Margaret Thatcher in the original West End production of Handbagged. Recently, Gonet portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in the 2021 movie Spencer. Her talent and versatility have contributed to her success in both theatre and screen.
