Stephen John Dillane (born March 27, 1957) is a British actor known for his roles in film, television, and stage productions. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Leonard Woolf in the 2002 movie The Hours, Stannis Baratheon in the popular TV series Game of Thrones, and Thomas Jefferson in the 2008 HBO miniseries John Adams. Dillane's performances have earned him critical acclaim and prestigious awards, including a Tony Award for his lead role in the play The Real Thing in 2000. He has also received BAFTA and International Emmy Awards for his exceptional television work. Dillane was born in Kensington, London, and grew up in West Wickham, Kent.
