Stephen Spinella (born October 11, 1956) is an American stage, television, and film actor. Born in Naples, Italy, Spinella grew up in Glendale, Arizona, and graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in drama. He also attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts' Graduate Acting Program. Spinella is best known for his Tony-winning performances as Prior Walter in Angels in America: Millennium Approaches (1993) and Angels in America: Perestroika (1994). He has also been nominated for a Tony award for his role in James Joyce's The Dead. Spinella is openly gay and has appeared in various stage, television, and film productions.
